I read a book about gnomes and wrote a short piece about gnome like fascination in daily life in the modern town life, nothing special in that, but when I later translated it to English, http://learntalents.blogspot.com/2018/09/gnomes-or-more-likelily-doing-things-in.html , I was left stuck in the same subject. I wonder if it is somebody'sidea of the district I nowadays live in, or is it just because there is a lack of things between fairy tales and modern engineering like town life, in foreign cultures much more than in Finland? I have the feeling that gnomes are a subject that breaks just because some long for it so very much abroad. The Finnish rationality makes people cultivate things that bring good spirit at large and not just fairy tale figures that are like bubbles in comparison.
